Rough Point Rodeo Rules

Fishing Dates: April 1, 2025 - Sept 30, 2025

Fishing time will end at 2:30pm each fishing day. Fish hooked before 2:30pm but released after 2:30pm will be counted. Fish hooked after 2:30pm will not be counted. (Fishing times on days when another billfish tournament is occurring will match that tournament.)

Fishing times on days when other tournaments are occuring will be the same as that tournament's lines out fishing time.

Boat must return to Beaufort Inlet to count/report billfish released or landed that day.

The registered boat is the boat for which releases count. You can't fish on a different boat and report them as billfish releases for the registered boat.

All billfish releases must be reported to your team captain DAILY to be counted. You can text, email or radio your team captain. If you text your team captain a day, or week after to "update" your releases, he will not do that. The reporting must be DAILY. We emphasize this because it has been a sticky point in the past with all of the sudden reports of multiple releases from days or weeks ago coming in.

Billfish releases will be counted for boats that are registered and paid by the time they report their release. (Your fish don't count until you are registered and paid in full for entry fee)

Entry fee is $300 per boat.

Two teams; currently 41 boats per team.

Blue Marlin = 3 points
White Marlin = 2 points
Sailfish = 1 point
Swordfish = 1 point

Year End Banquet - November 20th, 2025 - Jack's Waterfront Bar
There are always a ton of raffle items that boats will be entered to win with no additional purchase necessary. The catch is that you must be present at the banquet to win a raffle item ... so make plans to attend or have your team represented there!
